Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Yvonne Dodd is a bilingual Licensed Clinical Social Worker and provides counseling at La Red Health Center two days a week. She has worked over thirty years with the Latino community and although she is not a native Latina has been told that she has a "Latino heart". Yvonne learned Spanish by studying at the University of Barcelona, Barcelona Spain and is a graduate from Juniata College (1978) and the University Of Maryland School Of Social Work in 1996. After college she lived and worked in Ecuador, South America as a Peace Corps volunteer. She has always been dedicated to the culture and currently spends much of her time advocating for victims of domestic violence and sexual abuse. She also runs a men's batterers group for men offenders and parenting classes for Separating and Divorcing families (in Spanish). She is currently is an author of a ten week Wellness Curriculum combining all aspects of spiritual, physical, and emotional health. Yvonne is married and has four children (no grandchildren yet) and enjoys playing bluegrass music in her spare time.
